Adare Manor Golf Club

Home of Ryder Cup 2027
Welcoming the Ryder Cup back to Ireland since 20 years ago at The K Club in 2006.

Adare Manor Golf Club is an 18-hole Championship Course which is the last major golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior. The exquisite parkland of the Manor demesne has been preserved with the challenging course set amid magnificent mature trees and incorporating many aquatic features including a 14 acre lake anchoring the front nine holes and The River Maigue which meanders through the entire golf course.

Our role was to undertake a series of improvements both within the clubhouse courtyard gardens and on the wider estate landscape areas that interface with the golf course itself, working in collaboration with Tom Fazio design who were responsible for the redesign of the golf course itself.

The renovation of the Carriage House and Golf Clubhouse has seen the creation of a series of new garden rooms and courtyards. Guests are greeted by a majestic Quercus palustris (Pin Oak) standing beside the Clubhouse entrance, set within an intricate paved carpet. To the north lies the Courtyard Garden, edged by a timber colonnade adorned with climbing Wisteria sinensis, arranged in four quadrants defined by Taxus parterre hedging.
Pleached Carpinus betulus (Hornbeam) trees and neat hedging provide additional enclosure to the south with an impressive floral display rising up amidst the formal evergreen structure adding colour and life.
Lining the pathway between the entrance and the putting green is a 25m long planted border of groundcover, ornamental grasses, herbaceous plants and ferns. In the centre sits a solid topiary Beech disc, making a subtle reference to the holes of the nearby putting green and golf course. A series of 1.2m diameter Taxus balls with drifts of ornamental grasses flow with herbaceous perennials to add a lightness and complexity to the floral composition.
Past the Killarney Oak, stand 2m tall Fagus sylvatica (Beech) balls marking the entrance to the formal gardens of the Manor House and the River and golf course beyond.
